Dogs are very welcome at 42 of our adult only caravan parks and campsites. In fact most of Tranquil Parks owners, managers and wardens are dog owners themselves. So they understand that dogs are part of your family when going on holiday and taking breaks.
You can see all the dog friendly parks on our Dog Friendly Caravan Parks page. If you’d like to see them on a map go to Discover our Parks, click on ‘Search by Features’ and select ‘Dog Friendly.’
We also know that many of you have more than one dog so in this special report we look at how many dogs you can take to each of our member parks. Most parks make a small additional charge for dogs, usually between £1 and £3.00 per night and we have shown the parks where there is no additional charge. We’ve also highlighted what’s close by for dogs and the wonderful extras that parks have added to make sure our canine guests enjoy their stay just as much as their humans.
Pooch perfect doggie etiquette
All parks require canine guests to behave calmly and quietly on site and owners must keep them under close control. It’s important that all guests are able to enjoy a relaxing stay at Tranquil Parks! Owners must pick up after their fur babies and keep them on a lead or tie stake around pitches. Breeds banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 amended earlier this year, are not accepted at any parks. If you have a breed or a dog that looks like a breed that may cause concern, please check with the park before you book.
Safety first
It’s very important not to leave dogs in your motorhome, caraan or vehicle unattended. Not only is this very dangerous for their health on a hot day, but some dogs can become very anxious and disruptive if left alone.
Dogs are not the only pets we welcome
When we talk about pet friendly holidays, we’re usually referring to dogs. But we asked the parks what other animals they have hosted and found that cats, tortoises, rabbits, birds in cages and even chameleons have stayed on site in caravans, motorhomes and campervans. There’s no charge for these pets as they stay in their unit or on the pitch. If you are planning to travel with an unusual pet, please contact the park in advance.
Below we are featuring the parks that responded to our requests for information by region from South to North. We also show the maximum number of dogs per pitch or unit, or the park’s policy on accepting dogs. We hope you find this information helpful
